Youth - Competitive U11 - U14
BRIGHT STARS COMPETITIVE U11 –U14
Bright Stars Competitive Program is for the committed youth player looking for a higher level of soccer experience. The program creates a challenging environment that fosters player development through professional coaching, competitive matches, and a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
The program is for the U12 through U19 (11 to 18 years old) age levels for both boys and girls. The players in the competitive program begin their youth soccer experience in the recreational (classic) programs that starts at four years old. Once a Bright Stars of Colorado player is 11 years old (U12), the choice can be made whether to continue playing recreational soccer or join our competitive program.
U11 - U14 players are required to attend two soccer practices per week. Players in the U15 and up groups are required to attend two or three practices a week. In addition to team practices, the club provides weekly additional technical skills, striker/goalkeeper and goalkeeping training sessions. All players must be in proper club's training jersey.
To be a part of the competitive program, every player goes through an annual tryout process beginning in the month of May/April for the following season. Players are selected to teams based on their appropriate skill level and in some instances, are dual rostered onto teams within their appropriate age groups to accommodate the growth of development. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for any child that is willing to be a part of this program. We may have numerous teams in an age group to help further every player’s development.
Each player is given the opportunity to compete on the national stage. It requires commitment from both the players and the parents. This commitment includes playing in a minimum of 1-2 tournaments a year, including off-season (winter & summer) training participation. Top level teams (Super League, Premier, and or Division ) will travel to out-of-state tournaments 1-2 times per year.
Registration fees payments can be made in 3 installments each season.
*All fees include Bright Stars fees, CSA team and player registration fees, referee fees, regular field rental expenses and maintenance, and coaches' fees for one season only. The fees DO NOT include tournament fees or expenses, uniform, tournaments, indoor fees or other team expenses.
Our Goal for the Players
Technical Skill Development: We prioritize enhancing the technical skills of every player withing the team environment, focusing on areas such as ball control, dribbling, passing and shooting.
Tactical Adaptation: Teams will learn to adapt and find effective solutions to various game situations, emphasizing the importance of game intelligence and decision making on the field.
Positive Training Environment: Coaches create a positive and supportive atmosphere during training sessions, where players feel motivated to learn, take risks and develop their skills without fear of criticism.
Games: Games are played on Saturdays, with a few games on Sundays when reschedules occur. Teams typically have 4 home and 4 away games. Most games will be in the Denver Metro area, however, there may be games as far away as Vail, Colorado Spring, Pueblo or Cheyenne, as examples. A commitment to a team requires that you travel to ALL away games.
Training: Competitive teams train two times a week at Aurora Hills Middle School.
Tournaments: Each competitive team participates in at least 2 tournaments per year that are developmentally appropriate for the level of the team. Most tournaments are local, but some may be out of state. The cost of the tournament is additional and is divided amongst the players participating.
